【Analysis Know-How.com】Handling of Permanent Magnets in μ-EXCEL!
The finite element method automatically calculates the operating point of the magnet (permeance coefficient) based on the defined shape!
To define a permanent magnet in magnetic field analysis, the magnet's BH (demagnetization) curve is required. An image from the manufacturer's catalog is shown below, and we will use the BH curve that connects the residual magnetic flux density Br and the coercive force Hc. The catalog also includes the JH curve (magnetization curve) and the maximum energy product BHmax. In the finite element method, the operating point of the magnet (permeance coefficient) is automatically calculated based on the defined shape.
